Supplies Needed To Make These Foam Stamps
How To Make Foam Stamps
Step 1
Take your foam and draw out shapes.
Step 2
Cut out 1 and use it as a stencil to make more so they’re even. Or you can make them uneven, it’s up to you.
Step 3
Peel back the adhesive and stick it to the toilet paper roll. Get ready to paint!
How To Use Your DIY Foam Stamps
These foam stamps are easy. All you need is:
- A Paper Plate
- Acrylic Paint
- Paper or Gift Bags (we used the latter)
Step 1
Pour different color paints on a plate and lightly swirl it. Don’t mix it, you don’t want a funky color.
Step 2
Roll your foam stamp in the paint.
Step 3
Then roll the foam stamp across your paper or gift bag. Let it dry before you do the other side.
Step 4
And then you’re done! You either have beautiful art or something nice to give someone!
How To Modify This Craft For Younger Children
If your little one is a bit too young for scissors, then you can use foam stickers. It’ll be a bit easier. You can also put a small dowel rod through the toilet paper roll so they can roll it a little easier.
Our Experience With This Foam Stamp Craft
We had fun with this craft. Messy crafts are a big hit in my house. And so anything that involves paint is always received well. I actually came up with this craft while at the craft store. I saw a stamp set and thought it looked cute, until I saw the price. Obviously it was a professional set, but I remember cute stamp sets as a kid and how much I liked them.
So, I wanted my kids to also be able to experience stamping fun. And they did. We made gift bags, we made art, and they may have also stamped their arms. It is what it is sometimes.
That being said, make sure you put them in clothes you don’t mind getting paint on or have paint smocks or aprons on hand. We have some old oversized shirts we use. But, I hope your family has as much fun as mine did with this craft!
